The Way We Know - An Expert

One of the achievements of learning or knowledge acquisition is that of becoming an expert. This is classed as an achievement because it is not everyone that achieves this title and the title is seen to be one that should be given respect in our social structure. It is not only social structure that sets the place for an expert, it is the fact that an expert is often a useful person to organisations and society, someone that can be consulted, someone that can be called upon to solve problems. Within the context of knowledge and leaning, it is important to consider the term expert and the concept that the term conveys in use.

An expert is a knowledgeable specialist in some area. It may be contradictory to consider an expert in common knowledge although all things seem to be possible if the will is there to create such a link. An expert would be expected to know most things about their area of expertise. The term expert then is very closely linked to the possession of considerable knowledge within a specific knowledge domain.
